My Philosophy on Diabetes Management
I believe in reasonable diabetes management that will delay the complications without the risk of over treatment. Most of the studies that were done over the last 20 years produced meaningless data because of the extremely high & unexplained drop out rate. The claim that intensive treatment has an advantage over the traditional treatment can not be justified based on these studies.
The UGDP studies that expressed concern about the increased risk of cardiovascular disease with over treatment with certain groups of Diabetes Medications should not be ignored.
The most important part of the therapy will always be a proper diet & exercise program.
